Dermal fillers - which one is right for me?

Chances are you have at least heard about dermal fillers - from friends or relatives and definitely from social media. Last year over 7.3 million injectable fillers were performed in the United States alone. More and more women are interested in learning about how these popular treatments can enhance their beauty and correct aging. But with so many excellent products on the market, where do you even start? Hopefully we can clear up some confusion and point you in the right direction.

All dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid - a carbohydrate that naturally occurs in the body. HA gives the face that youthful, lubricated, supple appearance. The deepest layer of skin is composed of hyaluronic acid and collagen—and as we age, our reserves of both are naturally depleted.

The job of the dermal filler is to replace what nature has lost. When injected directly into a specific area, the filler will combine with water and swell, ultimately smoothing and filling lines and wrinkles restore natural looking volume.

The filler choice is based on your treatment goal. Some products are smoother and thinner and work on areas that need movement and expression, while others are firmer and provide volume to a specific area that doesn't require as much movement. Some lines are deeper requiring thicker filler and some are more subtle requiring a thinner filler. The filler you need will depend on what is your area of concern. Read on:

My face looks flat and I literally have no cheekbones!

As we age we loose subcutaneous facial fat. This diminishes the volume around the cheeks and mid face. You will need a filler that is firm provides fullness and lifting in this area.

My Nasolabial folds are deep and noticeable

These folds run from the bottom of the nostrils to the corners of the mouth. They deepen with age. You will need a filler that will do the job but not over do it - something soft and flexible in this dynamic area.

Ask us about:

  • Restalyn defyne

  • Vollure (deeper folds)

  • Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus

I have vertical lines around my mouth

Many women notice small vertical lines around the mouth (sometimes known as smokers lines). You will need a filler that can subtly fill these small lines and add volume to the lips without overdoing it - something a little thinner thatallows for full expression.

Ask us about:

  • Volbella

  • Restalyn Refyne

  • Juvederm

I would love fuller lips.

Voluminous, shapely lips are popular right now - and we have several excellent products to choose from depending on the look you are going for. Fillers can plump up the lips, provide subtle improvement in definition and shape, or gently correct age-related volume loss.
